The National Review of Young Painting PROMOTIONS is one of the oldest events of its kind in Poland. Thanks to the Review, young artists have a chance to appear on the Polish art market and to include their names and activities in the circulation of information about the latest phenomena in Polish art. The winners of the PROMOTION Grand Prix are awarded with an solo exhibition that goes with a catalogue. The exhibition traditionally takes place in the Gallery of Art in Legnica.
So far, thirty-five artists have been awarded with the main prize at PROMOTIONS Rewiev (six times the title was awarded ex aequo). The other prizes went to another one and a half thousand painters who took part in the Review between 1991-2019. For many of them, the awards received in PROMOTIONS have been a driving force to further successes, which shows that the competition in Legnica fulfils its role by helping talented artists enter the difficult world of art.

The exhibition E-motions! is the first comprehensive presentation of the works of the collection of the Gallery of Art in Legnica, built since 2000 due to the growing need to collect and preserve the most interesting and representative works that have been awarded during the Review in one place. The presented paintings show trends and phenomena in young art, from over thirty past years. Thanks to the cross-sectional nature of the exhibition, you can take a look at the evolution of contemporary painting in Poland.
